Hey guys. First off, big thank you to AOK and responding to my questions about shipping. I had to hold my breath a bit, but it finally arrived yesterday. I’ll definitely post this in my ersatz thread soon.
So onto the topic at hand. This rolled edge thread has a very unique makers mark in the liner dated 1915. I’ve studied it quite a bit on AoK’s website and at hand and it’s still hard to read. I’ve looked up helmet makers on pickelhauben.net and didn’t see any that resembled this one. Best I can guess is “Lilbem Brands”?
Also, there’s an ink stamp on the liner that I’m positive is “gb.” I’ve noticed it on a few ersatz models including on a clothed covered that was posted here and a few steel ones. Is it an approval stamp similar to the ones you may find on steel helmets. All guesses and discussions are welcome here. Thanks!
