Very nice example. As a relative beginner I can't comment as to why they are not more popular but I've always wanted to add an example to my collection.

At Steve's request, here is a nice one I picked up a few years back. It is a Vulcan Fiber example. Has a paper tag under the liner with the date of Januar 1895. Interesting in that on the rear it has the name / word "Thespis" and the number 117 (twice). Could not find anyone with that name...

That was one of my first Haube. I think I got it from Espenlaub. It's a nice vulcan fiber example. I can post it, as well as any other items here if people would like.

The thought was that these oilskin caps predate the leather Kraftfahr caps. Probably pre war. If true I'm not sure but agree, you never see these.

This arrived in the mail today. A dark overcast day so photos are not the best. Condition is good. Has lost a couple of nuts/washers and maybe a star over the years that have been replaced but all seems to be intact. Some crazing to the shell but all parts appear to have been on this helmet...

Gorgeous collection. Would love to own a complete example one day like these. I have a salty example but missing some parts and heavily worn.

Great guy. Class act. He was always my first table visit when I entered the MAX show and used to clean out a nice portion of what he brought. LoL :giggle: Always felt bad for the other guys who came after me :)
