    Help identifying uniform

A beautiful photo of your grandfather. He was well decorated. Shooting prize and fencing certificate. (Lanzenfechten Abzeichen). It is based on the Prussian cuirassier's Pallasch, inspired by the 1816 French cuirassier's ‘Latte’.

    Guard Star

https://spikehelmets.pl/gallery/helmet-plates/infantry-prussia/plate-04/48.html The beautiful reproduction from Spikehelmet has nothing to do with the 2 stars above. For example, here the SUUM QUIQUE is in one piece with the olive branches, it is molten metal in a mould. On the 2 authentic...

    Hessen Train Battalion 18

To accompany the subject, here's a view of my TB18, with its unscrewable skirted tip, and a view of one of my 115s with its small unscrewable tip end.

Would this be a good auction to win for under $800?

no, translator's error. I meant that €800 is the price of the left-hand helmet, in which case the other two are ‘free’.

Yellow helmet fittings - Baden LGR 109 from 1867 to 1870/71 or 1885?

My bible : Jean-Louis Larcade Tome 1 page 55 : --- ‘It was in 1856 that the Grand Duke of Baden granted nickel silver fittings to his Leib-Garde-Regiment. ---In 1867, the 6 Baden regiments were equipped ‘Prussian style’, and all had brass (gold) fittings. ---It was on 11 June 1885 that the...

Can anyone verify the authenticity of this Pickelhaube from the Bavarian Field Artillery?

A non-commissioned officer's helmet or one bought privately is going to be hard to find. Go for an enlisted man's helmet, not an officer's. Here are two helmets that might be suitable. The one on the left still has the large M1886 plate, while the one on the right has the M1914 configuration...

Can anyone verify the authenticity of this Pickelhaube from the Bavarian Field Artillery?

https://www.weitze.net/militaria/87/Bayern_Helmemblem_fuer_die_Pickelhaube_Offiziere__458087.html No, that's not right either (plate M1896 for the infantry ‘troop’ and not ‘officer’ as said by Helmut !!! The screws at the back show a private purchase plate for a one year enlisted man. The plate...

    Original eagle?

Hello Rob, At 50$ you haven't taken any risks, even beautiful reproductions sell for much more. What puzzles me is the absence of the large central screw with the wing nut. It was used to quickly exchange the crest eagle with the point.

    Hessen Train Battalion 18

Beautiful helmet, beautiful markings! I'd like to take this opportunity to point out the fluted skirted tip, specific to the TB Hessois. The 117 has only the tip. Idem for the Dragons Hessois, point with skirt, but white, contrary to the L.I.R.115 which had the small point only which was...

    Original eagle?

I don't have a good feeling about this eagle. I don't like the little rim under the base. Some reproductions are easy to identify... but others are formidable.

    Original eagle?

Hello, We need a photo of the underside of the four-lobed base. Beautiful reproductions were made in Paris in the 1980s, but this eagle looks old. However, it is obviously not correctly attached to the base. There are abnormal extra holes.

Help with identification needed. Tax Agent ?

I'm sorry, but as this is a civil administration, I don't have any documents on this subject. Each imperial administration had plates, stamps and badges stamped with the Imperial Eagle, marking their membership of the Empire. This was the case for the Railways, Customs, Post Office, Tax Office...

Would this be a good auction to win for under $800?

This is more or less the bid of the first left, the ball artilleryman and the ‘Mütze’ are ‘gift’.

Can anyone verify the authenticity of this Pickelhaube from the Bavarian Field Artillery?

With its shortcomings, this headset would sell for no more than €1,000. There will still be a few costs to make it right.

Can anyone verify the authenticity of this Pickelhaube from the Bavarian Field Artillery?

I agree with Sandy. Visor unravelled. As for the plate, yes, it's a Bavarian Gendarme plate. The central oval is larger, and the ‘Treue’ banner is lower down.
