Are some of the fittings silver?

Good evening everyone, I came across this plate and am having a hard time identifying exactly what it would have been on, it has the same exact details as a standard mecklenburg wappen except it has a shield in the center instead of an oval/ circle. Does anyone have any ideas?

Has anyone ever cut open the inner should seams of a uniform like this before?

It would be interesting if I could ID the man and see what awards he received during the war since I'm certain the portrait was done pre war

I can post some close ups of the blade, it is a nice piece but unfortunately the blade has alot of corrosion damage especially at the tip.

Well I haven't talked to the seller just yet, I'm waiting to have it in hand before I start the refund process since I think that's a rule, or at least expected that it's viewed in hand before asking for money back. But the sellers profile says you have 14 days to return the item.

Well it's a good thing he has a return policy haha I should have known better than to dip into unfamiliar helmets without having them in hand. But lesson learned.

So with this one you think the tail and visor are incorrect for period pieces? Is the leather on the inside a red flag as well?

The only potential issue I had seen was that the spike for this regiment should be Tombak like the shell. However everything else seems to line up.

If I'm not mistaken it's possible that this is pieces together due to the buttons being brass and not silver which is what they should be for a pioneer uniform, or possibly the shoulder boards are added.
