    My sons helmet

Well my friend, when I first started collecting pickelhauben, I also made the same mistakes as you did. Thougt my haubes were great, but they were bogus. But I stayed on, and learned from my mistakes.Like you did. You did the good thing joining us here. We are all collectors, and we will help...

Fort de la Pompelle (2024 Marty)

I agree with you, I saw the Friesé collection at Fort de la Pompelle for the first time in 1991, I really liked it that way better than it is now.

    Only A Beginner Would Ask....

Well, I think you mean by pitch, the spike assembly, so including the base? If so, the wappen (frontplate) and spike are made of steel. On question 2, these two are indeed used regulary, but mean the same. On question 3, I agree with CLOVIS 57, though I have seen better ones for less, but the...

    Only A Beginner Would Ask....

Welcome here on the forum. This is a Bavarian M15 helmet (model 1915), so not pre WW1. It looks okay, only the damage to the bottom of the spike base. The kokarden are fitted the wrong way around, the Reich kokarde, red/white/black, should be on the other side, the Bavarian kokarde looks fine...

Deutsche Weihnachten 1918 – Eine fotografische Chronik 🎄 Die Schönsten Deutschen Weihnachtslieder 🎄

Correct Gino, people back then were happy with what they had, nowaday's everybody is spoilt by all on e-bay, loads of commercials and so on. If you don't follow those things, people seem to think they are not part of society anymore. They seem to think they have to follow the herd, like cows...

A M95 artillerie haube is my latest addition.

But now the big question, regarding the vent on the rear spine. Fuss or Feldartillery? I know one doesn't have that vent, the other does have it.
