oh, I agree ! It was just a speculation on my part, and hopeful thinking that maybe someone came across loose Garde stars like this. Just like we come across wappen etc.

Hello Steve ! Sorry for hijacking this thread, but I have a question regarding two officer mitre hats in your collection. Could you tell why these tow have different finish around the eagle ? One on the right looks to have orange enamel versus the other one just textured brass ? Thank You ! mike
