Up for sale is my 2nd Regiment Currasier helmet that I purchased from Age of Kings a while ago.
According to Randy, Remy found it in New Orleans about 20 years ago or so.
The second Cur regiment is a rare one and this is a step in the rarer direction.
According to Randy this is a funeral parade helmet the reason it is painted black.

The paint is period and original to the helmet but if desired the paint can be removed.
But it seems to be baked on and blued and it passes the scratch test.

IT IS ON THERE !!

No extra holes .

100% original.

It kind of looks like a JZP but a lot rarer.

A standard Currasier with gray metal trim sells for $1,200-$1,600

I am asking less than what I paid for it.

$1,700 plus shipping.

Are there stamps in the helmet shell:-size-unit-Kammernummer ??
Thank you,
Francis

Hello,

There is a size stamp on the inside of the brass trim on the rear bill of 57.

On the inside of the front bill stamp in the brass trim looks to be A K I UCKE .

There is also a oval brass shaped disc with the numbers 6028 held on by a leather ( yes leather ) nut on the starboard side wappen screw post.

The port side wappen post is held on by the old nut with loop.

Thanks for the interest,

Matthew

I'd love to know more about this, as I've never heard of such a thing!

As I remember there was a small platoon that rode in funeral processions escorting high ranking and dignitary personal on their final ride.

Is the shell treated like a Jäger zu Pferde helmetshell or just painted?

Thank you,
Francis

Never heard of a helmet painted black for that use ?
especially for an enlisted man
Maybe a J z P body ?
could be wrong ?
