That would have been me :-)

Also collect Megafauna skulls but not too many, just enough for this display.
Wow, are those all genuine fossilized skulls?
Incredibly rare. And what is that gigantic skull in the background?

I once bought a molar of a mammoth. Way less impressive but I find it fascinating it belonged to an extinct giant that lived tens of thousands of years ago.

Hey Hans yes indeed those are real. Now you know what I started collecting after the wall o helmets went goodbye.

The giant skull is an Archotherium or better known as the Hell Pig. One of if not the largest land mammal predator that ever walked this earth. The mammalian version of a TRex.

A nice Dragoner officer beside it for scale!

Here are some more photos of a few of the others including juvenile and adult T Rex teeth.

Sorry didn’t mean to hi jack the thread!

I for one will not be anyone’s buyers competition, my wishlist is empty, found every helmet I ever wanted so I consider my collection complete. (already collecting something else now ☺️)
I have allways wundered;" when is a collection complete" (for my self!!). Each time I am nearly there I manage to find a othe side track, to continue the journey....

When I was a kid I have always been fascinated by ancient creatures.
I read a book (about 60 years ago) on the Labrea Tar Pits and have always wanted to visit.
I have been there 4 times as an adult and it never ceases to amaze me.
I have been all through the Smithsonians and the Chicago museum.
I was a week too early before they added Sue.
Wonderful collection !!
Thanks for sharing!!!

Not as impressive, but I always was fascinated by prehistoric times, trilobites and ammonites, looking a those beautiful creatures you are looking hundreds of millions back in time, the dinosaurs are recent creatures in comparison, so have some of those too

Those are very cool. I want to get one and almost bought a beautiful colored one found here in Canada but my boss wouldn’t let me as I just recieved a nice care package of Pickelhaubes from Germany the other day lol.

Unfortunately, I have no idea how to solve this problem. But it's great that you even try to find a solution. I purchased one helmet from AOG and the transaction went smoothly. The service was excellent throughout and I'd like to thank you for your efforts and for running such a great shop (y)

Btw, I have a question about the possibility to reserve a helmet. Do I just have to add a helmet to my shopping cart, or how does the “Reserved” status come about? Many helmets are reserved so quickly that I can hardly imagine you received an email and already reacted so quickly.
Thank you very much for your reply.

Buying a fossil is great, but finding one ...puling it out of the ground for the fist time in a million years has to be special. (y)

We used to live off of a ravine and my sons would often go in to explore and do what boys do at young ages (build forts etc) and one of my sons was in a shale bed and pulled out a fantastic chunk with a huge ammonite in it. He still has it!

Several of the fossils I have are from a palaeontologist in South Dakota. I drove there to pick up that massive Archeotherium skull (a 3 day drive one way) and his collection is unbelievable, most of which he dug himself. It was quite an enjoyable afternoon hearing his stories of exploration.

I would imagine it’s all automated. Once you place an item for purchase it’s automatically Held and purchased it’s automatically now Sold.
I agree with that, you see On Hold when the helmet is in your shopping cart, and only when it is bought, you see Sold.
