Hello Guys!

I'm new to the Forum and this is also my first Pickelhaube, that i am able to buy. This Pickelhaube is offerd to me by somebody i know from work. I am not a Pickelhaube collector but i want to have one for my collection. The Pirce should be 450,00 €.

What do you think about the Haube? Is it original in all pieces and is it all correct? Is it a price that i can pay for it if i don't want to resell it?

Thanks for your help!

Best wishes from Germany!

hi andi
first of al welcome to this great place
i cant find any red flag on this one ,it looks a good one to me
all parts seem to have the same patine
alltouhg im not sure of the tschinstrap to be a good one
it seems to match up with the rest of the haube so i give it a 50/50 on it
the price range is on the other hand low witch is funny becose its a helmet of a smaller state than pruissian.normaly a pruisian one you can buy at that range
wait until other members of the forum give there opinions on your haube before you buy it

Good morning!

Thank you for your opinion on that helmet. I hope other members will give me their opinions, too.

Best wishes!

Welcome to the forum. I agree looks ok but are there any markings present such as a manufacturer stamp or regimental markings?

Regards,

Edwin

Welcome to the forum. Helme looks good to me. Chin strap is a reproduction but that is very common and not a problem.

Thanks to all for your opinions! I bought it now and i am very happy with it. I can't find any stamps or markings on the Haube. It could be that there was a stamp on the liner but the leather became very dark by sweat or something and there is nothing to find.

Where i can find a original chin strap? Can anybody give me a hind?

I'm not a real Pickelhaube collector, i am more familiar with soft headgear. But now i got this nice Pickelhaube and i think i fell in love with it :-) So i think this one wasn't my last one...

Best wishes to all!

Andi

from time to time chinstraps apear on ebay mostley fakes but olso originals
ts pretty hard to find originals

Original straps are hard to come by and I have seen them go for $250US on Ebay. It is easier and cheaper to buy missing original kokarden than to find an original strap. :(

Mhhh... yes i expected something like this. The chinstraps are wanted by everyone, the Pickelhaubes collectors and the helmet collectors, too. So the Price is high. But for now the copy-chinstrap is ok for me, it matches with my Pickelhaube and it can stay there until sometimes an original crosses my way.

Thanks and best wishes!

Hi Andy, Wilkommen aus Wisconsin! (I know, I can't spell well auf Deutsch)

Ah yes, I wanted only one for my collection too... now I've a few more than one! It looks to me as is somebody has oiled the interior of the helmet. Let that be the only treatment it ever receives, as oil can do some damage. Other than that, it looks like a great first helmet!

:D Ron

that is with all of us i guess
i wanted of eatch state one helmet but i have past that one
i have more than 3 of one state
it is hard to say no when a beauty passes your path
