I bought a dress cap of an officer of the Life Guards Hussar Regiment for my collection. A very rare item, very good condition.

Beaver fur was used by officers of the Guards Hussar Regiment. The hussars wore fur of a fur seal dyed to look like beaver fur.

What a beautiful piece of headgear. Original Imperial Russian pieces are scarce, especially something as fragile as this. It had to survive World War One, the Revolution, the Civil Wars, and World War Two, not to mention the Communist regime and its denunciation of anything to do with Tsarist times.
