Folks,

May I present something you probably may not have ever seen or will ever see again in a set of groupings. A completely new wappen and shoulderstraps to the same unit in the span of 15 years.

On the left, we have a pre- January 24th 1899 Helmet and Waffenrock to a Sergeant in DR9

On the right, a post June 5th, 1914 grouping to a Sergeant in DR9.

I have a soft spot for the regiments stationed in Metz. Such is the case of the Hanoverian DR9, which the Kaiser WI transferred from Osnabrück to Metz in honour of the feats of arms it had performed in the battles around Metz in August and September 1870. (0snabrück garrison).
This is my DR9 M67, which fought here at Gravelotte :

And here is a DR9 M94 trumpet, with the post-1899 eagle, with the banners of Napoleonic victories (Metz garrison).
