I am currently working on this helmet but wanted to post photos of its rare unique officer plate with 3 Napoleonic battle honours soldered to it. Both of these Artillery Regiments fought with the British against Napoleon at these 3 locations. Peninsula is a word which denotes Spain. Both Spain and Portugal occupy the Iberian Peninsula. Ghorde is in Germany and a large battle was fought here in Sept. 1813. Waterloo in Belgium was where Napoleonfinally was defeated by the British and their Allies. The photos:
Excellent crisp details on this rare officer helmet plate. We can date this plate to before 1913 because a 4th battle honour was added after that year.
The 3 bandeau are all separately soldered to the eagle...2 spots on each wing with Waterloo soldered to the crown. This is a very rare wappen!
