Howdy all, hope everyone is well!

I wanted to share with y’all that Haube I picked up for on that antique store and let me tell you, she is gorgeous!

Liner is minty and she’s in great shape over all.

I also tried to see if I could move the spike plate, the prongs are really stiff and have been in place for a long long time, I don’t wanna damage nothing on her so I’ll be keeping it how she is.

Over all, really happy with this one and I really appreciate all you helping out in authenticating this guy!

You did the right thing in buying it Dane! :)
And your choice of leaving the teller where it is, is also a good move. Damaging those splitbrads would have destroyed its authenticity,
it has been like that for many years.

Dane, I think I already mentioned that I liked it by saying what was the name of that shop before you bought it.

If I didn't like it, I certainly wouldn't have said that or be interested in who was selling.(y)

You did good on this one my friend and if you ever get tired of it or your collecting interest change or life just gets in the way let me know I'd be interested in adding it to his countrymen I already have. ;)

Aye thank you Coert I really appreciate it!

Aye I honestly don’t mind the spike plate on the top as much as I thought I would. It may have been a liberty bond Haube which is really cool!

You think I’m just gonna give away my secret fishing spot? 🧐

Just kidding of course, it’s a place in Auburn Washington called Antique marketplace. Really friendly staff and solid prices. I had them save my contact in case anymore come in. I’ll be watching this place with a hawks eye 😂

And I’ll surely let you know if I ever plan to let her go, though this is defiantly one of my best pieces and I plan to hold on to this one for a long long time.

Out of curiosity though, what would you say the actual value of this guy would be? I am quite curious.

Well, the actual value is quite higher Dane. I bought my M95 Bavarian enlisted helmet from a forum member for 750$. Which is a good price too.
Count yourself lucky my friend!

Dane re the value it depends on location, if it's a collector-to-collector sale or if a dealer has it for sale and which dealer that is.

There are a lot of variables that come into play, I think you made a good deal. (y) If a dealer with a good reputation and a large following had it for sale you could add a few hundred bucks to the price tag, and I think it would sell pretty quick.

Enjoy the Helmet my friend and try to remember one of the keys to building a fine collection without running into problems down the road.

Always buy quality original items and you will always be able to get at least your money back if need be and hopefully a little more or in some cases a lot more. ;)(y)
