Haube Restoration From Back in the Day!

My good friend James who is also one of the moderators here has been very generous in giving me scrapper helmets for parts. He knows that I am always looking for these. Below is an example of one of the pieces that he gave me a few months back. I regard it as an example of "haube restoration" from back in the day! This example could bring either a laugh or a sigh as to what happened to some of our less fortunate helmets.

A bolt, some tin and wire will solve any problem! :D

This old soldier survived the War but ran into problems after it ended.

When your visor trim is loose, drill a hole and wire it back in place! Again, my thanks to James for the gift....there are some pieces that can be salvaged from this old soldier!
 
Don't condemn this item to death. It's salvageable. Try using glue, ground leather, and carpenter's clamps. You can do it!
