Hello dear collectors,

I’m fairly new here, so if this post is in the wrong thread or if I’ve made any mistakes, please feel free to let me know. I have a straightforward question: Is this Pickelhaube authentic?

I have no doubt it’s old (it has that distinct leathery smell), but I’m aware that sometimes old fire department helmets are repurposed into Pickelhaubes.

Many thanks,
GermanCollector

Hi Germancollector

Welcome to our forum.

That is an original model 1895 Brass prussian enlisted man model. Not a repositioned one. The hole inside the helmet also lined with the shutter vents. Liner is in a good condition as well.

Regards
Amy

It's a real Model 1895 Prussian Line Infantry enlisted ranks helmet. Missing the chinstrap and the cockades plus the brass nut that secures the rear spine. It's in better than average condition overall.
