I'm lucky, I bought them when they first came out. Even though I can't read French very well, I can interpret enough to make these very valuable references.

I just received my copies of Francis' translations and the photos with the translated captions, they are excellent. The Larcade set is a standard reference I highly recommend, and Francis' translation makes them even more valuable.
Thank you Francis.

I also bought mine when they first came out Larcade vols 1&2 plus D.Laine what more do you need??
Me too!!! I’m lucky to be French, just like J-L Larcade and Didier Lainé.
The Larcade is extraordinary in its coverage of the distinctive features of the regiments and the links between the active and Reserve-Landwehr regiments in relation to the active regiment to which they were attached. It also explains the coats of arms of the Land in relation to the reigning sovereign. You won’t find this in any other book.

Lainé’s book is a useful complement; it is a catalogue that reviews helmets, insignia, front plates, shoulder tabs, Busch caps, cockades, etc.
Thank you, Sir Lainé and Larcade, for your incredible work.
