Hi,
I’m new here and I would like to ask you all for help. Can you tell me more about the pickelhaube from attached photos? Is it genuine historical item or just a repro?

regarding originality, I don't know, but combination of square visor and rounded chin scales would suggest cavalry officer, ec dragoon, but it does not have a dragoon wappen (plate), so combination seems odd to me

I am proposing it to be a Beamte (Administrative) helmet. Does it look like another smaller eagle may have been attached to the tail feathers? Also of note is the construction which appears to be Vulcan fiber. Is there by chance any marking on the leather portion of the liner? From the photo there appears to be a hallmark "Depenhag"

Yes. Note the absence of scroll on the eagle. This combination evokes non-strictly military personnel: administrators, veterinarians, pharmacists, and many others. A complex area.

Depaheg, a well-known hatter. The helmet is authentic. The Age of Kings website shows the same one, with stars on the spike base, described as a veterinarian helmet.

I would say it's a Beampten official. The absence of the small silver Prussian Eagle would argue for it being purchased prior to the introduction of the small silver Adler in 1905. And yes,, it can be a complex area. I believe the 1905 regulations fitting this helmet are:

Gold fittings, no scroll, FR, small silver eagle, domed chin scales squared front visor and cruciform spike base were worn by:.

War Ministry, Provisions Offices officials, Garrison Administration, Clothing Offices officials, Hospital officials, War Treasury field officials

Definitely Beampte and I would also suggest, it is a Vulcan fibre helmet judging from the interior photo.....black interior. Excellent original condition.

Yes, I will do some research to confirm:
---a ‘Dragon’ type helmet but with a Line infantry eagle, without the Vaterlandband, I also think it belongs to a veterinary surgeon.
