M15 Prussian enlisted Mans Pickelhaube

This was my first Pickelhaube that I purchased when I started collecting Militaria late in 2016. The helmet has a lightly stamped 1915 issue stamp and a yellow Bekleidungsamt Armee Korp stamp. There is what looks like the number 35 written in pencil in the rear skirt the letters W.W or M.M written on one of the liner tongues. There is also a manufacturers ink stamp that was firstly stamped over the top of one of the liner tongues and then re-stamped complete inside the dome. The Prussian Kokade appears to have been re-painted either period or post war as red can be seen showing from beneath the white paint, so potentially was originally a Reich’s Kokade. Not sure if the white size label in the front visor is period or not. Happy for any thoughts or advice as I’m still very much a newbie with Haubes Thanks

You did very well, this is an excellent example of the M15, great condition! My first was also an M15 but the liner had red rot and the condition was not half as good as yours. I had no idea about "red rot" so I bought it. Congratulations!

I'd bet money that if you took a poll that 8 out of 10 collectors would say that their first Pickelhaube was an M15.

Mine sure was and I still have it she came out of the attic, and the front visor was and is all bubbling.

oh, my that was about 1971 or so. I'm geezing

Nice M15 manufactured new, on that date, and not recycled "M95." The absence of regiment number is compliant and regulatory. The AK VIII is the AK of Rhineland, formed by the 15th Infantry Division of Koblenz and the 16th of Trier.

That was my first haube that I picked up in 2016. I was actually lucky with that one as my knowledge in Haubes wasn’t much lower than it is 10 years on
