Several years ago we had a discussion about the size markings we occasionally see stamped into the "tangs" of pickelhaube spines. I and others posted photos of marked pieces that we had in our parts collections. If memory serves, we were never able to figure out the "sizing system" at least in my case. However, I recently picked up a size 60 cm M95 Prussian Train helmet whose spine I am showing below. As you can see the tang is stamped "0" and I am now wondering if this represents the zero in the size number 60 cm. ?? Does this provide a clue to size stamped spines?
