MAX pickups

Congratulations on your pickups I actually had that Saxon in my hand and was talking to the seller for some time real nice guy at the end of the row if I remember correctly.

I ended up picking up another sword which I need like a whole in the head but just couldn't resist the price was so good. It's a model 89 for Saxony which is named to a member of the 2, Kgl. Sachs. Uhlanen=Rgt, No18.

How is that Machine Gunners patch I was getting ready to look at it on Thursday but got called away and forgot to go back. It was priced nice three something I think, and real ones are going in the 5's (y)

Thank you for the kind comments gentlemen. Yes, he was at the end of the row, in the front of the room. He actually had several nice swords but told me he was more of a gun guy. How about a picture of the Saxon 89 that you ended up with? The MG badge has the thumbs up from Don D. over on WAF so I'm comfortable that it's a good one. Was priced at $295 but we agreed on a price a little lower than that. I was surprised that it was still available Friday afternoon. I believe I only saw one other but I can't remember which table now.

Thanks again, Lance

Hi Lance,

Here are a few pictures of the Saxon I picked up its actually a Saxon Calvery Saber M1892 Interim which is the Saxon version of the Prussian KD 89. It's in very good condition I didn't even have to dust it, and it's named to a member of the 2, Kgl. Sachs. Uhlanen=Rgt, No18. which I really liked. I tried to resist another sword, but it kept calling out to me. ;):ROFLMAO:

I looked for your thread over on WAF about your patch but couldn't find it

Beautiful M92 John. I was looking for a nice blue panel 89 or 92 but the ones I found were either not in the best shape or too expensive. If I had seen this one I may not have ended up with the ones that I did. My thread asking about the MG badge and Don's extensive thread...

Take care, Lance

Dons MG thread is a fantastic resource that I've used many times over the years.

Great finds. Is that a matchbox holder? Really cool.

I had to miss the show at the last minute. A bit bummed but I'll be there again next year.

Hi Lance,

That was a smart move taking pictures at the show and posting on WAF before getting stuck in. I have never seen that before but certainly explains when I see some people asking dealers if the can take pictures. I've always thought they were trying to look it up on the internet to see if it was overpriced. (y)

Thanks for the links. If you are looking for a nice blue panel, send me a pm and let me know specifics I come across them all the time or may let go of one of mine. I'm not a hoarder at least I don't think I am my wife says different. :ROFLMAO::LOL:

Thanks for the offer John, I may take you up on that one day.

The only drawback to posting something for opinions is that you may miss out on it while you're waiting.

Yes that's a matchbox cover. It'll go with my one with the Kaiser on it.

Thank you Gentlemen for the positive comments, Lance
