Congratulations to these beautiful helmets (y)
The Mecklenburg helmets of the Dragoon Regiments No. 17 and No. 18 were in part very unique and underwent several changes. They were initially gold-colored for both regiments and also had a cruciform spike base. However, the fluted spike was flame-shaped, with a small ball at the top (Beamtenspitze) and the helmet had a round front visor. The rear spine had no visible fastening elements from the outside for enlisted men and officers. According to a decree of the Grand Duke Friedrich-Franz III of August 27, 1894, the fittings of the Dragon Regiment No. 18 were to be silver-colored, while the fittings of the Dragon Regiment No. 17 remained golden. By a decree of 15.12.1895 the helmets of the two Mecklenburg dragoon regiments were then harmonized more closely with the Prussian dragoon helmets. The helmets now had a squared front visor and a smooth spike. The rear spine of the enlisted men's helmets was now also fastened with 2 visible half-round headed fasteners, just like the Prussian dragoon helmets. It had no ventilation slider in the upper third, as it was a mounted unit. The spike was finally replaced by a fluted one with an AE dated 03.07.1897, which was in shape similar to the Bavarian one.

Thank you so much to you all for the lovely comments. I am really sorry for the belated response. I was traveling in Europe and I had major connection issues.
Back now, and catching up.
You make the best bunch of friends.
