Metal Helmets

What a great group. (y)(y)

Really interested in seeing more of that Shako, do you happen to know if it made by the brother Bing factory in Nürnberg.

Any additional pictures of that baby would be greatly appreciated.

Also, Gabe, I just want to put it out there because you never get anything without trying if you ever feel the need to move it on for any reason, please let me know. I'm interested. ;)

I don't know a lot about this shako. Life has kept me a little separated from the hobby recently, but I am always hungry to hear ideas.

It is a Bing. I bought another Bing helmet to put the liner in, but I don't know if I should. Not sure why someone took the liner out over the course of its 100 year history, but im happy to have the piece regardless. The wappen is put on by split pins.

Here are some photos. Happy to take more detailed photos with my better camera if someone wants them for a study.

Gabe

Thank you very much for the presentation of this shako; at first glance, the plate seems to be the same model as those used for spiked helmets.

A lot of Bing traits here including: a metal trim on both visors, metal pins along the bottom circumference to hold the liner, (which I presume was a felt band with the liner attached), and the red manufacturing mark inside. This is truly a special and extremely rare piece. Thank you for sharing

Hi Gabe,

Thanks for taking the time to post the additional photos and confirming my suspicions that it was produced by Bing. I love it and have been looking for one for a long time.

Congratulations on finding one which is not an easy task, (y) if you do ever decide to move it on, please do keep me in mind. ;)

Wow, this is probably the only one left in existence!

Could you give us a few more pictures too, like showing a direct front, back, and right and left side views? If would be greatly appreciated!
