MODEL 1897 HESSIAN OFFICER PICKELHAUBE with CARRIER

Helmet has brass fittings to its cruciform base, 3 brass studs, removable spike, rear spine, front visor trim and Hessian lion wappen. The Hess lion’s crown is pierced and is held onto the helmet body via thread and screw method. No extra holes behind the wappen. The front peak is rounded, not square cut like the normal Prussian Dragoon pattern. Beneath the cruciform base, there are holes meant for rounded spike base.

The distinctive hessian spike has six slender faced. It has dents on it. The throat sections of the spike had rolled metal collars around them instead of “pearlrings”. Five vented holes spike.

Interior features a brown leather sweatband with the silk canvas. Leather sweatband is in very good condition while there is wear and tear on the silk canvas. Original Reich and Hessian officer style cockades. Brass oval rosettes secured the convex chinscales.

Not a perfect helmet but it is a Hessian example.

Comes together with the carrier.

Asking $1500. Bank transfer or Paypal with fee.

Worldwide (except USA) shipping is estimated at USD200
