Well never really looked at these casings before, but last weekend at a local gun show there it was, sitting on a table labeled German shell $12.00, I negotiated and got it for $10.

Kinda like it so may have to start collecting these as well....

on the bottom of case on inside ring has PATRONFNFABRIK KARLSRUHE with a couple eagle marks. Around that it has the following marks MRZ. 570 1917 SP255

Anyone that has more information on this casing, it would be appreciated.

Many thanks

James

Everything you could possibly want to know about casings is on Tony's Kaisers bunker site.

I found your casing in about a minute. With photos of the guns.

Gus- I want my 2cm Becker shell I gave you back!!

James

I have no memory of that one, are you sure it is not still in your closet?

Congrats with the shell! I also started collecting these recently and I agree they are still quite affordable as well as addictive. Without precise dimensions of your shell its a bit speculative but it seems to me the shell of a 21cm Mörser. As already suggested have a look at the kaiserbunker for further information.

Regards,

Edwin
