Officer Helme KIR 145

May be also interesting… I have checked many Helmets with Grenadier-Eagle, and all the enlisted men helmets of the Königs-Infantry-Regiment I found just wore the Grenadier-Eagle on their helmets.
For officers, the most wore the Hybrid Eagle (with Guard-Eagle sword and Grenadier-Eagle scepter), or the Guard-Eagle with the word „König“ of the Fatherlands-Bandeau (for many people the correct Guard Eagle without star) on the chest. 1 Officer helmet wore the Grenadier-Eagle.
That’s why I think it depended on the helmet designer. Apparently, the only thing that mattered was that the eagle had spread its wings.

I agree with you. I had 5 helmets of enlisted men in the KIR145, all had the grenadier's eagle, Koenig in the middle, crossed sword in ‘butterfly’, and acanthus button.
The officer in the Gravelotte Museum (Museum of the Annexation and the War of 1870) also displays the standard grenadier eagle.

However, the Guard eagles without stars (with Koenig on the left wing) can only be explained by an attribution to the KIR. This eagle is very rare and has never been seen on a Grenadier helmet.

So my conclusion:
---Grenadier: always the Grenadier-Adler (to replace the FWR eagle of the 12 ‘old regiments’ after 1897).
---KIR145 :-i.e. the Prussian eagle of the Line.
-Most frequently the Grenadier-Adler.
-much more rarely the Garde-Adler ohne Stern.

I think that the eagle of the Guard without a star was ‘hijacked’ to honour the King's infantry regiment, and to distinguish it from a Grenadier regiment.

So a specific eagle for the KIR145 after 1913, which was neither infantry of the line, nor Grenadier, nor Guards with the star. However, as this method (an unperforated Guards eagle for the star) was too confidential, the very similar Grenadier eagle was eventually adopted.
At least, that's my thinking...
