Pickelhaube Iron Cross case....post WW1 I believe

Hello all, new to helmet collecting and found this piece. I think it's legitimate but post-war. In nice condition and the auctioneer says the box is original to the piece. Looking for opinion honestly, is it a legitimate item or a souvenir from much later?? I know nothing so any guidance would be appreciated.

Unfortunately I don't know. It sold at the auction Monday for $205 but I was unable to bid due to internet connection issues with my phone. (I live in the boonies and service was spotty Monday)

Popped up on the bay and I couldn’t resist. The EK1 is by a very rare maker called Victoria. Rob

These and other memorabilia were favorites of many veterans from the post war period, for those who could afford such luxuries in the Weimar Republic. Very nice piece. Congratulations on finding one.
