Pickelhaube Ltn.d.R. in IR.103

This set is very beautiful, so you see that there are still pearls somewhere waiting for us, unfortunately I will not find something like that, or is there still hope somewhere, here in our countries there are many collectors who visit the fairs every week and buy second-hand items

Hello Map

This is a typical frak clasp for Saxony.
It's also called the Saxony staircase. This design isn't very common.

Is there any specific reason this was done as opposed to the normal ‘bar’ style, or was it purely stylistic? Also why was it so specific to Saxony?

Apologies if these are obvious questions or if there's no clear answer.

By the way, a very nice grouping you posted there!

Hello,
"Saxon Staircase" is not an official name. It was named this way by the citizens because the typical Saxon binding with the triangular band and the arrangement on the supporting frame creates a kind of steps, like the steps on a staircase.
