Dear friends, apparently it's the end of the year, so here are the photos and let's share your thoughts about this one. I bought it without thinking, but I'm still happy. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

I think I'll leave this one in its juice, or what do you think?

In my opinion, this is a helmet that was later converted from an M95 in an M15. When looking at the markings, this becomes quite clear.
GGR9 marked, but also the marking BJAXIII, with the little f for feldbrauchbar. This bekleidungs instandsetzungsamt XVIII reworked it into an regular Prussian M15.
I'd leave it as it is too.

BJA: Bekleidungs Instandsetzungs Amt. XVIII...
"CGR"
Colbergisches Gren Regt Nr 9. Would have been 2.Armee Korps - Stettin.

Strange...

Apparently, I hadn't looked that far yet, but it's a helmet with some history and I'll keep it, thanks

Yes, without any doubt. Former CGR 9 hull converted in 1915 helmet. you can see on the picture that the hole of the plate have been changed.
Stamps are correct for a former assignement to CGR9 regiment.
below picture of my CRG9 which we had discussed here https://www.pickelhaubes.com/xf/thr...des-1st-marne-river-battle.17297/#post-123156 :
COLBERG 1807 031 r.jpg20221024_081050.jpg

It is possible that this helmet remained in service with CGR9 after 1915. Indeed, I have never seen a "Colberg" eagle with the iron-grey M15 fins. I therefore assume that CGR9 was equipped with Prussian M15 line helmets at the end of 1915.
Perhaps due to the ease of transport by rail from the Champagne and Lorraine front, the BJA and RBA XVIII repaired many non-Hessian spiked helmets (Electoral, Grand Duchy, and Nassau). Afterward, BJA helmets became rare, and the BJA was common in Feldbrauchbar (field-grade) armor. Perhaps it was oversized for this purpose.
