Hello everyone,

I brought back a simple Prussian from the IR163, well complete and nominative:

It is a beautiful piece that was picked up by an English soldier who put it in his bag. It is slightly deformed.

My friend Philippe ( Argonne) managed to find the bearer’s path:Wilhelm BANK of the 4/163 which was wounded in the right shoulder and then taken prisoner by the English in the afternoon of 4.7.16 at the southern tip of the Mametz wood in the Somme. An English attack isolated a large part of the area held by 4/163 and captured a large part of this company

Nice helmet, always good to know the history, and names and history behind a helmet!
I have an M15 Wurttemberg helmet, which was also researched by Philippe, so I know who owned it, also the ones after that. :)
Knowing the name of the soldier who had it, and regarding it's history after, is very nice.

Regards, Coert.
