Restoration of a Russian dragoon helmet, model 1909

Greetings everyone. Another recent restoration project: a dragoon helmet, model 1909. A friend bought it at auction and asked me to do some tidying up.

The helmet was very small in size, and it is even possible that it has become smaller over time.

I completely disassembled the helmet, straightened it out a bit, lubricated it with cream, and renewed the varnish coating.

I straightened it on a press and glued the broken rear visor. Then I sewed it to the helmet.

The helmet dried. Next, I installed a horsehair plume and stitched the fabric to the liner.
