At Steve's request, here is a nice one I picked up a few years back.
It is a Vulcan Fiber example. Has a paper tag under the liner with the date of Januar 1895.
Interesting in that on the rear it has the name / word "Thespis" and the number 117 (twice). Could not find anyone with that name. And from what I learned, there was no 117 unit related to the IR100 or 23rd Division
Thespis of course is an ancient Greek poet and the supposedly first "actor" to appear on stage. There was some thought that this Haube might have been used as a prop from a theater costume supplier.
