Good evening to the entire community...
This evening I'm taking the liberty of disturbing your Saturday... forgive me.😀
I had the opportunity to purchase what I believe to be a beautiful Sassone "Ersatz." troop helmet
I see no problems and everything appears to be truly untouched.
Stamped on the back flap 177.R.
As usual all opinions are welcome in order to lern more about these beautiful items...
All my best from Turin
Giorgio

There are a lot of Saxons showing up the last couple of weeks. I like that.
No issue with this one. The cockades had a tough time but a rare and complete helmet all in all.
You bought it from Francesco? :)

Rare and complete indeed, untouched by everything except time, congratulations on an excellent find. Those kokades may be showing their age but they perfectly complement that haube!
Well done.

Amazing! These are hard to ersatz models, with the Saxon ones being even rarer. These are supposedly made of cork with the visors being made of fiberboard, all of which is covered in cloth, with the rear visor having a leather trim. They would have been in a field gray cover when first produced, but have since faded into a tan color due to exposure to light and a hundred plus years of time. This one is absolutely perfect to me; it has all original parts, is regimentally marked correctly in the “Saxon style,” and the shape is still relatively good. If you have the chance, I’d say buy it

Thanks again to everyone....(y)
I haven't found much online about the Reg. 177. Can anyone give me more information?
Thanks
Giorgio
