Shako markings help

So I bought this the other day as you do ( I added the chinstrap) didn’t need a grey plate but I noticed all the markings and decided it was a pre war shako with a heavily patinated Brass plate. And it was. However I’m not up on my markings. Any ideas? Thanks. Rob

Looks like one of the stamps is TK? So perhaps Telegraph Komp? Fittings should be silver for technical troops, I believe

Unfortunately that plate is incorrect for that shako.
The plate is a standard size and should be the smaller sized shako plate.

I think you are wrong there, this plate has been on it forever its the correct size and shape. Rob

Anyhow Mr picklehaube as I said you are wrong, sometimes you have to look beyond your first thoughts as you can see its a little Shako thats why the Eagle appears larger. Rob

That is a tiny shako compared to the other ones. Does it say the size anywhere in the markings?

That is a small shako.
Do the plates measure the same height ?
Your small one versus the shako on the far right ?

The plates are the same height even the interior size. It’s just a lower Shako. No doubt the reason why is out there somewhere, perhaps they had to duck their heads a lot or crawl through tight spaces who knows. Rob
