The beauty of the sleepiness of time

Hi All

The Sun is shining today so I thought I would take some of my little guys out for a bit of fresh air...

Like most of you, I always try to get the best and, for me, the “best” means AS ORIGINAL AS POSSIBLE!

That is for that reason that I love little hidden details such as stuck chinstraps, imprints of cockades into shell, old sleepy dirt behind front plates, etc.

Here are a few examples of why I mean...

If you feel the same, please feel free to complete this post as you like !!

Happy Easter

Best

Alex

Hello,

nice helmets and details!
But forgive me to go off topic right away; I was just curious about who the guy is, wearing (among others!)at my first impression a" légion d'honneur premier empire 4 iéme type, à boufette"?

Very nice collection Alex. I would love to see a couple more of your Garde filz helme. Thanks

Hello Alex
I totally understand what you are meaning, cause I am collecting exactly the same way. This speaks to me!
Each small detail can tell you much more than a 1000 words speech....And it´s always fascinating to try to catch them in a pict !

Thank you very much Alex, that piece is in great condition. Again, an undyed liner in a filz helme, this is only the second I have seen in 30 years of collecting.

I'd like to know more about this reservist's cross, which has a motto I've never seen before, mentioning neither Fuerst nor Koening. Can anyone tell me more?

Brian,

Not a Filz-helmet but a Filz Tschako, maybe they are more common.
