Three Mitres

Truly the rarest of the rare! Simply outstanding!

To say that so very few of these exist, is a great understatement! Likely only a single digit number of these likely still exist in the world.

Gorgeous collection. Would love to own a complete example one day like these. I have a salty example but missing some parts and heavily worn.

How do you tell which helmet is for which regt?
Charles
thanks for the question
To be correct they are both from the same regiment the KAGGR # 1
but they are from 2 different Batls of the regiment
The Grenadiers had 3 Batls . the side attachments were 3 flaming grenades one on each side
and one in the middle of the back of the body
not sure if I have photos on file to show this . I will look and post if I do
the Fusiliers had only 1 Batl , making it the much rarer one. Only the officers of 4 Kp
the side attachments were 2 Prussian eagles with 1 more in the middle back
the shape of the Fusilier body is different from the Grenadiers

Ive wanted one since I was a kid but I have zero knowledge about how to authenticate one. So, I guess I’ll never own one either.
There have been theater copies made of the enlisted models
but once you have seen an original one , you can surely tell the difference
I don't think that I have ever seen a copy of the officers miter
Weitze has a Grenadier Batl officer for sale now
17,500 Euro

Here the sides are shown
I should have added that on the Grenadier officers miter , the flaming bombs attach
the chin straps to the helmet
On the Fusilier officer's miter , the eagles are above the chin straps
In my 55 years of collecting, I have seen a total of three officers KAGGR #1 / Fusilier Batl miters
the photos , I thin were taken by my collector friend & PH.com member
