UNITED STATES IMPORT EXPORT DEVELOPMENTS

Hi everyone, I personally think that shipping from Europe to the US is getting a bit expensive. For a book weighing 1kg, they want 62 euros shipping here at bpost. Soon the book will be cheaper than shipping. Where are we going?

Hello,
Thanks for all of the information.
I recently received an item from Regimentals. Delivery carrier was UPS. First off, the delivery person did not take the time to knock on my door such that the person at home that day could receive it but just placed a sticker on the door with the unheard-of amount due of over $300.00. I called UPS, 2+ hours, only to have the call dropped once received. I called back and was directed to the online payment section of the website which was offline. Called back asking for a supervisor involved in billing only to be told that the office had closed 10 minutes earlier. Total call time wasted 2 hours 30 minutes for nothing.
I amended my work schedule to be home for the second delivery attempt the following and followed the intended delivery time. Actually worked from my laptop on the porch in 30 degree weather.
Driver came 1/2 hour early so if I had intended to be there when they were scheduled I would have missed the delivery again.
I made another call to UPS only to be told that they are experiencing, "problems", with some of their drivers.
I contacted Regimentals to see if this was normal but have not yet received a reply. Hopefully Daniel can offer some insight when I see him at the SOS
Is this just an issue involving deliveries from the UK? I have not experienced issues with deliveries from Germany

again, IMO it is a crap shoot. I have got helmets from Germany and France with no issues recently and no extra costs, just lucky I guess.

I have found packages from Canada have the most fees for me right now, so closest country is most expensive.

There are no duties to the USA with items marked HTC 9706.10 for antiques over 100 years old on the Commercial Invoice.

If items are being imported without a commercial invoice and / or without this exact customs import code, expect to have to pay duty. I’ve shipped several expensive items south of the border with this code and no issues.

yup, I understand and agree, however at the mercy of the sender in how they mark it. it is all good either way.

Yes indeed, I always feel as a buyer I have to specify to senders clear and specific instructions and then hope that they follow them.
