weekly sales in America

I don’t understand what you mean by the fool who asks and the fool who gives, or the context in which it is supposed to be received?

I think that Doug wrote it well
A o K is more than fair IMO on the pricing of their items
I know they operate in 2 different
#1 they will outright buy helmets for resale
# 2 If a collector like Rich Ames passes away A o K will help the widow
with the sale of his collection. They do a sale like this for a % of the total sale
At times like these , sometimes they have to deal with values the collector puts
on the items in the collection. Insurance values are sometimes a lot higher
than normal current sale prices .So it has to explained that helmets can't be sold
for insurance values
A o K is operated by 2 collectors who I personally know . I think very highly of both of them.
I have bought several helmets from them and were pleased with them and the pricing
Both collectors have been to my house for a collector visit.
I think that they will continue to offer nice helmets at fair value
So stay tuned .

Guy's let's keep it positive, this forum way beyond others is known for being a nice and comfortable place to participate in.

we also have to remember we have people here from all over the world, and for many English is not the first language, many use translators which are ok abut can make things sound different then they meant.

Pickelhaubes are a passion for all of us, and we all want what sometimes we cannot get. I get frustrated as well when Items go so fast, but see no other way for them to put helmets on, they are very fair in that they tell everyone the specific date and time for new helmets.

Have a great weekend.

Well written
as in the movie Highlander ; when a single helmet is offered for sale and more that one collector
wants to buy it ;"There can only be one "

Don’t get me wrong James, I am just trying to figure out the motive for the posts from Gino and we had a nice conversation via DM. There are no issues and yes there is a definite something lost in translation for me at least lol. All good no issues.

"I get frustrated as well when Items go so fast, but see no other way for them to put helmets on...".

There is another way, James; in fact, it is what they used to do: post new helmets randomly, as they come, at any time on the website. It was so much more fun.
First, it matches more closely the spirit of collecting, the hunting part, where by definition you cannot predict when the next opportunity will show up. Second, it avoids the one-fixed hour-a-week frenzy, and can limit frustration and appreciation mistakes. Competition between collectors remains, but at least you normally have more than one minute to examine and assess a helmet.

You are correct Bruno, I liked it that way to, it was luck of the draw.

Well said, Bruno. I agree.

Dear friends, like in Belgium and the Netherlands we have something like 2de hands en marktplaats there you can find something interesting for the hobby at any moment of time, also pickelhaubes and such, it does give something that search engine, still one always looks out and if you make a bid on something then you have to wait for the time, also gives something that search stress, but the nice thing is sometimes you see that it has already been sold and then it is too late, that also a form of hobby for some people, there are also those who look several times a day and when you go to work it is sometimes a shame but you always have the kick
I'm glad I posted it here as a topic, seeing the amount of responses

However there are 3 helmets added today. One is on hold .
Also I do not expect much on the Weitze update today
Helmet and his crew are also at the Max show.
