    Great helmet in fantastic condition! Very interesting history to the regiment, it’s amazing they started a football club! Buffalo Bill’s show must have created quite a stir in Glasgow!

    Great shako and fascinating history! I note you say the 71st established in 1777 had strong Jacobite roots. As the Jacobite cause was defeated at Culloden in 1746, how did this come about?

    Very interesting history! It’s surprising that the Royal Scots Fusiliers and the Cameronians were initially on different sides. Did Winston Churchill not serve in the Royal Scots Fusiliers in WW1?

    Thanks for letting me join the forum - I’ve been lurking in the background for a while! I’m a relatively new collector interested in all military headdress particularly pickelhaubes and that from the British Victorian / Edwardian eras. I hope to learn a lot and contribute where I can!
